chanel Haute Couture Fall WInter 2017 chanel-decor-haute-couture-2017-eiffel-towerThe Chanel Haute Couture 2017 collection was a feast for the eyes with its amazing runway design. For the house’s Fall 2017 RTW collection, the theme was a rocket launch site and this time, Karl Lagerfeld recreated the Eiffel Tower for the his latest couture collection at Grand Palais.

The collection was a mix of party and casual wear. It’s all about cut, shapes, silhouettes said the fashion show description, describing the collection as “a vision of a revived Parisian woman”. The color palette included neutrals like nude, grey and beige. We also saw pastels and classic blacks.

The show started with the tweed dresses (nothing new there!), followed by maxis and finally voluminous gowns. We saw a transition in tweed dresses from long jackets to matching sets. The first one I liked was a slate-colored tweed jacket and skirt paired with a leather top. The next one, a hip length jacket paired with a matching skirt. The floral appliqué on neckline, sleeves and hemline gave a unique look to the outfit. And best of the three was indeed this one- tweed crop jacket paired with a burgundy-colored satin skirt giving a more casual look. How cool is that!

Starting with the black strapless ones, the looks moved on to elegant poofy gowns. Plus, youthful short knee length gowns which were more wearable for parties and cocktail parties.

Statement sleeves were a major trend spotted in this collection. Feather trimmings, poofy and embellished sleeves were the highlights.

Accessories included oversized pearl earrings and layered bracelets. Handheld bags in matching tweed paired with the looks reminded us of the last fall’s couture collection. And not to miss the fedoras that were seen in all the looks except the bridal finale look! Similar to the handbags, even the fedoras were of the same fabric as the outfits. We saw embellished, silk and tweed fedoras. Also, patent ankle length and two-tone knee length boots were seen.

I liked the shimmery grey strapless sheer dress which was fitted at the calves and perfectly paired with patent black boots.
