Apart from the brand’s signature tweed, there was a lot that caught our interest in the Chanel collection for Fall Winter 2018-19. Read our review here!
As always, the backdrop of Chanel collection was breath-taking. The forest theme for Fall Winter 2018-19 truly gave us autumn vibes with leaves forming the base of the runway. The setup was enough to drive us into a romantic mood.
The past runway setups of Chanel collection have included waterfall, a rocket launch center and a whole Paris-streets-themed set. So, we always look forward to the unique backdrops by Chanel, apart from their collections. And like always they didn’t disappoint this time either! This was, in fact, by far my favorite backdrop by the design house.
“Within this decor, the black-and-white palette is warmed up by an array of reds, russets, moss and pine green, brown and foliage prints,” is how the brand described the theme for their Fall Winter 2018 collection.
The collection was all about signature tweed dresses and cocktail wear. It started with a model walking over the bed of leaves wearing a black front-slit dress with shimmery tights and accessorized with mismatched earrings. From tweeds, the looks moved on to copper dresses, embellished jackets and leaf print outfits. Tweed outfits paired with fur stoles were a great style statement. Cocktail dresses in black paired with bright colored gloves added a perf winter touch to the outfits.
The thing that I liked the best in the Chanel collection was the comeback of the classic metallic color, copper! Copper pants, skirts, boots and gloves were a super attraction of the show. Also, the 90s broad flared bottom pants also made a comeback.
Bold colored leaf patterned dresses matched the forest theme and leaves. From leaf print ankle length dresses to skirts to mini dresses, they had it all! One of my favorite looks from the collection was a leaf printed skirt with matching jacket, paired with a pink full sleeved top. Perfect for a casual look!
Accessories included various bags like handheld, double, embellished totes and sling bags. Also, jewelry like mismatched earrings which will probably be amongst the top jewelry trends for 2018, logo jewelry, collar necklaces and long chain pearl necklaces added glam to the outfits.
Overall, the Fall Winter 2018 Chanel collection is a set of glam, enchanting yet very wearable pieces with loads of 90s inspiration for nostalgia!
