Bright eyeshadow with a bright lipstick – who says you can’t break makeup rules? Discover my bold makeup look from our vacation party look editorial/ intro video!
I created this look for our outdoor shoot/ vacation party tyle editorial – you can check out the complete look here: Fun Summer Outfit for a Vacation Party + Colorful Makeup Look.
This makeup look accompanies a cute outfit, a turquoise macramé skirt and a plain white top. This look could be toned down for a casual day out, sure. But for this photo-shoot, I decided to really take things up a notch and create a fun makeup look with it.
The makeup look for this fun summer outfit is really experimental. As a general rule of thumb, magazines and makeup artists advise you to go for either a bright color lipstick or bright eyeshadow. But of course, we being the rule-breakers wanna try whatever we’re told not to, right?!
So I wanted to really go all out by pairing blue eyeshadow with a bright hot lip. The turquoise matches my skirt exactly and I wore the eyeshadow with a smokey wing, black eyeliner and loads of mascara. I also added a glossy red lipstick, blush and highlighter to really make this look a very party look.
It’s a more matte look, a far cry from the dewy makeup trend. However, one can also add highlighter to it to create a dewy or shimmery look.
This look would be perfect for a fancy lunch party, or a beach wedding. Or, you could wear it to a special occasion like your birthday party or engagement.
