They not only have to make it all easy for the bride but also ensure every little detail is right for the bride. bridesmaids-fashion-trends-style-heelsAn image of bridesmaids dressed in silver shorts gowns with an overskirt with a front slit on Instagram shows how comfy these girls are! And how far we’ve come from mini bridesmaid dresses!

Shorts gowns are essentially shorts that look exactly like a gown, wherein the skirts are replaced by shorts. The shorts are covered either fully or only on the sides and at the back with an overskirt, that may be opaque or made out of tulle or other sheer fabric. First of all, shorts are super comfy and these outfits will be in limelight! Yeah, women walking in shorts at a wedding, totally cool! It almost gives Charlie’s Angels feel, I guess.

Are Bridesmaid Shorts the New Trend for Weddings?

Bridesmaid shorts will certainly become trendsetters this wedding season. And it’s not even a brand new trend. In fact, Salvadoran designer, Francesca Miranda showcased her shorts gown in her Fall 2016 collection. The sheer lace shorts gown is a classy ensemble. Even fashionista, Olivia Palermo had opted for a similar shorts gown for her wedding back in 2014.

Also, in 2017 Poland designer, Sylwia Kopczynska showcased a similar style shorts gown in her bridal collection at White Gallery, London. And with this trend picking up on Instagram now, it’s gonna get only bigger in the future.

Bridesmaid Dress Style | How to Style a Shorts Gown?

You can either opt for just a shorts gown or go for a shorts dress. Go for pastel colors or metallics to stand out! Keep the makeup minimal by keeping it all natural. Or go for a sexy metallic smokey eye to match the dress and pair it with a nude lip. Side swept hair with loose curls or a messy bun looks perfect with a shorts gown. You can also opt for shorts with pockets to make a statement!

You can even surprise the guests by wearing a satin skirt over your shorts gown. And later changing only to shorts gown! Or go for detachable overskirt so you can remove it at the afterparty!
