As per the fashion show description, Anita Dongre said, “Songs of Summer is a collection that is very close to my heart. I am really excited to bring back the understated elegance of the 50s in the form of fluid silhouettes, light hand embroidery and exquisite floral details. I am also thrilled to add sustainable elements to the collection using R|Elan GreenGold, an eco-friendly fabric that is made from recycled plastic bottles.”
Menswear included printed jackets and sherwanis paired with long jackets and waistcoats. The colors were summery like yellow, tones of blue, white, green and beige. Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor walked the runway with wife Mira Rajput for the first time.
Shahid wore a white sherwani with embroidered collar and matching cropped pants. While Mira wore an off-white lehenga with floral motifs and matching sleeveless blouse. The hair was side swept and the nude lips complemented the look.
Overall, the collection was dreamy and magical yet perfect for the modern women.
