Anamika Khanna’s couture 2016 collection was presented with a unique backdrop. A vintage couch with climbers and leaves was setup at the centre of the runway, with three models forming a part of the decor.

The fashion show started with an off-white embellished lehenga with dupatta draped just at the shoulders. Gradually it moved on to palazzos, anarkalis, concept and pre-draped sarees.

The collection made a big case for uniquely-drapes sarees. Some were paired with pants and some with capes and jackets. Dhoti pants were also seen, paired with the sleeveless blouse.

The color palette included off-white, beige, gold, salmon pink, olive-green and crimson red. Big flowers were appliquéd on the lehenga. Heavy statement jewelry enhanced the look of the outfits. Bandhgalas were adorned with long earrings and statement necklaces accompanied sarees.

Here’s one of my favorite looks from the collection- a black skirt and blouse, cinched in at the waist. It also included a long lace veil in black and white. The model wore a green statement necklace.

Another look that grabbed my attention was one with a long bold printed and embroidered jacket. It was paired with an anarkali dress. The long necklace added charm to the outfit.
