LFW 2017 saw Amit Aggarwal’s winter bridal collection, ‘Monaco from the heart of Kashi’. Read the review and view the gallery!
The collection had pre-draped sarees, gowns, flared skirts and a variety of peplum tops. The traditional nine-yard Benarasi sarees were given a modern twist. Hence the name – Monaco from the heart of Kashi. A new range in the bridal collection, perhaps I should say pre-wedding bridal collection!
Accessories included earrings and belts which would make good accompaniments for wedding outfits. The tribal-inspired silver and polki earrings were designed by Sangeeta Boochra.
Metallic heels by Steve Madden complemented the collection. The makeup was subtle and natural with nude pink lips and shimmery eyeshadow. The features were highlighted with medium contouring. Hair was pulled back and tied into messy braids. The look was natural with flyaway hair.
Bollywood actress, Esha Gupta was the showstopper for the show. She wore a beautiful blue lehenga with gold floral motifs on it. The lehenga was paired with a two-tone top that had gold stripes. As per the fashion description, “The lehenga was done with recycled materials and intricate hand embroidery boasted of 600 hours of craftsmanship.” It was quite a stunning showstopper outfit.
Overall, the collection had simple bridal wear but apart from the color palette, we didn’t get to see anything Monaco inspired! This theme presented an interesting opportunity to feature Monaco architectural motifs. I wish there were embroidery designed after sculptures and carvings on old Monte Carlo buildings. But all we got to see simple and plain bridal wear.
The front row fashion for Amit Aggarwal at LFW 2017 was stylish with Bollywood actresses Dia Mirza, Kiara Advani and singer Sona Mohapatra. Dia Mirza wore a beautiful Amit Aggarwal recycled gown with plunging V-neckline.
