Let’s talk about the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2018 RTW collection where simplicity and minimalism collide with glitz and glam!

It was great to go inside the designer’s world in this Rome-inspired setting. The collection was so Roman at heart with its strappy sandals, breathable maxis and capes.
The show opened with black swimwear, not amazing, but basic. Halter neck one pieces with cut-outs in the front and back and bikinis with lace-up details were the most prominent silhouettes. They were proceeded by beachy cover-ups and jumpsuits. But the evening dresses and gowns that followed, really stole the show! Sheer, appliqué and feather were the most popular. I just adored all the surface embellishments on the dresses. Silks, floaty fabrics and embellishments created movement in all the evening wear which made them more visually pleasing to the eye as they walked down the runway.
The accessories consisted of clutches, jelly shoes, flat and high heeled strappy sandals, cat-eye sunglasses and floppy hats. The color palette that Alberta Ferretti opted for her SS18 collection is absolutely stunning! Black, nude, coral and metallics that included metallic pastels, which I need to have in my wardrobe ASAP. Makeup-wise, she went for bold eyes and soft lips. And the hairstyle was a wet hair look with some loose strands framing the face and a knotted braid at the back.
This breathtaking sheer dress with metallic appliqué, was no doubt the highlight of the show. Oh my, I just couldn’t take my eyes off it! Also, the very 90s-esque metallic knotted shirt with the trousers was quite a stand out in my opinion.
