Fashion Handbags for Fall Winter 2018 | FW18 Purses

1. Short Strap Sling Bags

This is the hottest and one of the top handbag trends for 2018. We’ve already seen longer sling bags ending at the hips in earlier seasons but this season we’re seeing something different. The sling is getting shorter and shorter. The slings bags of Fall Winter 2018 collections end just above the waist. You can go for the cross body ones with the bag hanging either at the front or back.

My personal favorite is the black asymmetric bag by Dior. Also, look for organic shapes, asymmetric bags when you go shopping as this is the hot new trend we are seeing. This may not be a trend in 2018 but likely to come up in 2019!

2. Quilted Bags

Quilted bags can of course not make you feel warm but will definitely make you look trendy this fall! From Versace to Gucci to Dior, we’re seeing all the high fashion designers are making a case for this trend on the runways. We expect it to be huge next season. Be it fanny pack, backpack or structured bag, go for the quilted fashion handbags trend.

3. Statement Hardware

One of the best fashion handbags trends for 2018! While metallic bags are still popular on the runways, we’re also seeing tiny metallic details like charms, studs, safety pins and zippers on them. This hardware adds a wow factor to the bag making it look more trendy. We saw these details on sling bags, handheld bags and also structured bags. You can even opt for a handheld bag with zippers on it to rock two top fashion handbag trends just in one bag!

4. Handheld Bags

We’re loving the trend of handheld bags! From Dolce to Fendi to Moschino, designers are just not getting over this trend and yeah they are back again! In Fall 2018 collections, we saw handheld flap bags, slim and oversized handheld bags. I’m waiting for the patchworked red Dolce bag to hit the store so I can atleast lay eyes on it!

5. Art Printed Bags

This is one of the most popular handbag trends for 2018! Artsy prints are trendy on all sorts of bags – clutches to structured to tote to flap bags! For Fall 2018, opt for either a bag that is completely printed or if you are looking for something subtle, try the double bag by Coach in which one of them is tote and the other, a micro bag with prints on it.

6. Micro Bags

In almost all of the last few seasons, we saw the micro bags trend and it’s here this season too! Micro bags have become a wardrobe essential. So, if you don’t own it, girls, get one soon as we predict it to be the best handbag style for 2018! Be it plain, patterned or fur, all of them are ruling the runways. I’m loving the grey mini with broad chain link strap. Broad chain link straps are also trendy this season!

7. Fur Bags

“Fur in winter? Groundbreaking!”

Aww, the green colored sling fur bag by Dolce is adorable. The trend of fur bags have been on and off every season but it is still on the style radar and hard to get rid of! Uh, well, the fashion world always keeps us guessing!

8. Bucket Bags

Bucket bags are hardly new to the runways. It’s a trend we’ve been seeing for many seasons now and yet it manages to make it back this season too! In Fall 2018 designer collections we’re seeing both small and large bucket bags.

9. Slim Bags

The skinny bags are back! So say bye-bye to your fat wallets and bulky key bunches! Go for small or large ones as both of them are trendy!

10. Double Bags

We’ve been seeing the trend of double bags for past two seasons now! Two same sized bags, tote with a sling or a backpack with a handheld, all of these are super trendy. Still, I wonder how two bags of the same size from Maison Margiela collection will be helpful apart from making it heavier to carry. Make up your mind, designers! However, I’m super excited seeing the neon double bags by Prada! Are the neon colors making a comeback? Well, if Nike’s gym wear, Prada and Moschino are to be believed, they certainly are!

11. Fringe Bags

Fringe bags made a surprising show in fashion week bags! They were out last season but here they are – back again this season, making their place in fashion handbag trends for Fall 2018. Go for fringes all over the bag, or just at the sides.

So, these are the latest fashion handbag trends. I’m not able to decide which is the best as I’m loving all of them! Which trend are you loving the most? Do let us know by tweeting @shilpa1ahuja!
