With Italian opera music playing in the background, Take a trip to Venice by seeing the Alberta Ferretti Fall/ Winter 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection. Read our review and view the collection here! collection at Milan Fashion Week took us back to the history and culture of Italy. The Venetian inspiration seeped into the color theme of black, red, pale pink, gold and mustard, mask-inspired makeup and carnival, gothic-inspired looks.
The show started with an art printed maxi dress and followed by zebra striped outfits. Another attraction of the collection were the embellished black tops and dresses with a winged lion motif embellished on them. The gold sequin on the tops was matched with the filigree earrings. Velvet, lace and ruffles added to the gothic theme. Some dresses had prints of Venetian gondolas and canals.
From maxi dresses to sweaters to hoodies to floral dresses, this collection gave a wearable spin to vintage Venice theme. The show ended with feathered gowns, long trails and even a mask, followed by weekday – text sweaters – cool and casual. An abaya was seen, too, worn with a statement belt.
Messy hair with braids was the hairstyle of most of the models. Bold black eyeshadow and eyeliner, nude lipstick were prominent in the makeup. Accessories included chain strap bags, feathers, hats and earrings.
Two familiar faces who walked the ramp were Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid, both dresses in capes. Bella adorned the runway with black sheer dress while Gigi wore an art printed maxi dress.
